Article Title: Clopidogrel Use and Bleeding After Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery

Activity Purpose
To evaluate the impact of clopidorgel use on bleeding after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery and to recognize other determinants of bleeding in this context.

Statement of Need/Program Overview
This program intends to broaden the reach of atherothrombosis prevention and treatment protocols by providing a review of the current literature by today’s foremost experts.

Learning Objectives
On completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify the determinants of bleeding in relation to CABG and the baseline characteristics of patients who are more prone to bleed
  • Assess the impact of clopidogrel use in patients who are undergoing elective or urgent CABG
  • Select appropriate strategies to address CABG related bleeding due to various causes

Target Audience
This activity is targeted to physicians with an interest in atherothrombosis.
